The City of Huntsville is seeking qualified applicants to fill the Director of Animal Services position. This is an appointed position by the Mayor.
This is managerial, supervisory, and administrative work managing an animal shelter responsible for apprehending, impounding and disposing of stray or vicious animals in accordance with Animal Control Ordinances and State laws. Work involves managing Animal Services personnel directly or through an assigned Supervisor; budget and personnel administration; and the Offender’s Program. Work also involves responding to citizen complaints and concerns and performing public relations. Assignments are received from the Mayor in terms of broad goals.

We are an AUCVM and Royal Veterinary College approved education site, and regularly host veterinary students on their preceptor and internships.
