We are excited to provide a new, interactive workshop hosted by the City of New Orleans Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board and the Gulf South VECTOR is designed for wildlife‑rescue professionals, rehabilitators, and field responders committed to safe, ethical, and effective wildlife care. The session focuses on best practices for assessing wildlife activity and performing humane capture and containment, while also addressing critical health‑and‑safety topics for rescuers, including zoonotic diseases associated with small mammals, identification and management of ectoparasites such as fleas, ticks, and mites, and proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Through hands‑on practice and real‑world scenarios, participants gain science‑based skills to identify risks early, apply targeted interventions, and support healthier wildlife populations and communities.
Registration Cost is $15. Lunch will be provided

Wild Sun Veterinary Wellbeing Retreats are designed to nurture the whole person professionally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, offering a platform to connect with like-minded professionals, explore global conservation efforts, while you recharge in a sanctuary of nature.
Here’s what participants can expect:
– 10 RACE-approved CE credits focusing on deeply meaningful topics like communication, leadership, mental health, and wellness (all tailored specifically for vets).
– Daily yoga and mindfulness practices designed to calm your nervous system and help you feel grounded, as well as other enriching excursions throughout the week.
– Workshops and tools that teach you how to prevent burnout, build resilience, and maintain your wellbeing long after the retreat ends.
– Ocean-view lodging and gourmet meals that nourish your body and soul.
– Time to rest, reflect, and recharge (something every vet deserves but few get enough of).
We offer a $200 discount for any bookings made throughout the month of September – just include “September early bird” in the Additional Notes section on the registration form!
