Nominations are solicited as needed to replace individuals in expiring positions on the Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (ASBVME). Nominations may come from any licensed veterinarian, licensed technician, or layperson in Alabama or via self-nomination. The nomination period for the DVM Position has been extended through11:59 pm on October 8, 2026.
The Oversight Committee continues to seek representation from Congressional Districts 5 and 6, which remain areas of particular need for representation. Congressional Districts will be determined based on the nominee’s home mailing address.
While the Committee continues to encourage qualified individuals from Districts 5 and 6 to submit their names for consideration, nominations are now open to individuals from all Congressional Districts. All nominations must be received by 11:59 p.m. on October 8, 2026.
All nominees will be required to submit a signed nomination form (download below) showing willingness to serve, Curriculum Vitae (CV) and two letters of reference from ALVMA members, which will all be reviewed by the ALVMA Legislative Committee. If more than three names are submitted for any one position, the ALVMA membership will vote electronically. The three nominees receiving the most votes will be submitted to the Governor.
The following position will expire on October 10, 2026.
