As a veterinarian, you’ve followed your calling to support the health and well being of animals. While the rewards of your chosen profession are plenty, the veterinary profession can be challenging.
That’s why we are excited to be collaborating with MentorVet to provide you and veterinarians in your clinic with extra support in the transition to practice.
Designed to help early-career veterinarians thrive, MentorVet Leap is an evidence-based program that delivers the peer support, coaching, and mentorship needed to ease into the veterinary profession. As a member benefit of ALVMA, we are excited to offer four early career veterinarians the opportunity to participate in the MentorVet Leap program at no charge for summer of 2025.
About MentorVet Leap
This five-month virtual mentorship and professional development program aims to promote well being in the transition to practice by providing a combination of training in professional skills, financial and mental health coaching, and mentorship.
MentorVet Leap has 5 self-paced online learning modules in professional skills and monthly 1-hour small peer group Zoom meetings with 5-10 other early-career veterinarians.
Get ongoing individual support, if needed, with one of our highly qualified and trained mentors.
Get access to mental health and financial coaching.
Winter 2026 program begins February 20th!
MentorVet has been approved for 10 hours of continuing education credits in jurisdictions that recognize RACE approval. The MentorVet program is also approved in the state of New York.

Scholarship Qualifications:
Participants must be current ALVMA members
Participants must be veterinarians who graduated between the years of 2021-2025
Participants must be able to dedicate 3-4 hours per month for 5 month
The eNewsletter will focus on timely events within our organization, as well as, special spotlights for legislative or medical issues that arise throughout the year and will be emailed to over 1000 members every
month.
